Only two things stand between Haven’s law abiding citizens and the city’s notoriously dangerous criminal element Hawk and Fisher. As Captains of the Haven City Guard, Hawk and Fisher deliver justice, root out corruption, and fight crime with a deadly combination of sharp steel and even sharper instincts. But it isn’t easy. A volatile mix of natural and supernatural violence, Haven is a terrible place to be after dark…and not much better during daylight.
Guards of Haven collects books #4 through #6 of New York Times bestselling author Simon R. Green’s beloved Hawk & Fisher series.
Wolf in the Fold
In a risky undercover case, Hawk and Fisher have only 24-hours at a high society funeral to catch a shapeshifting spy with a dangerous secret who hides among one of Haven’s wealthiest families.
Guard Against Dishonor
When the influx of a deadly new drug threatens Haven, Hawk and Fisher must track down and crush the source, pitting them against Haven’s most powerful politicians, its sleaziest criminals, and…each other.
The Bones of Haven
Amid tense political negotiations in Haven, Hawk and Fisher join forces with the Special Wizardry and Tactics team to stop a ruthless terrorist who is determined to drag the country into a brutal war.

Hooray! I've been begging for this to be released in Kindle format for a very long time. Swords of Haven was available, but not this collection.Swords of Haven and Guards of Haven collect the 6 Hawk and Fisher stories.
Swords has
Hawk and Fisher
Hawk and Fisher: Winner Takes All
Hawk and Fisher: The God Killer
Guards has
Hawk and Fisher: Wolf in the Fold
Hawk and Fisher: Guard Against Dishonor
Hawk and Fisher: The Bones of Haven
These books were originally released very quickly, over a couple of years from 1990-1992, they are all fairly short, quick reads, under a couple hundred pages each and are part mystery, part sword swinging fantasy adventure.
You don't have to read the Blue Moon series for these to make sense, but if you're going to read Blue Moon, you should read these too because everything after the first book ties into the Hawk and Fisher books.
Hawk and Isobel Fisher are the only honest guards in the most corrupt city in the low kingdoms. So far, it starts like a lot of other fairly formula fantasy. Where it gets to be rollicking fun is that nobody write a villain quite like Simon Green and he writes in a very visual way with an admirable economy of words. His characters are sarcastic, tough and bigger than life.
I enjoy his books a lot. He starts out fast, keeps up the pace and is absolutely reliable entertainment.
In the first book in this trilogy, they are sent uncover to an estate to find a spy, and find out there is more going on than they suspected and the family has an ancient secret. This is a fun story, with a vintage feel to it. It seems to be influenced by serialized novels and radio shows from the past.
The second book has them facing a conspiracy as well as trying to solve two mysteries, one of them is trying to track down a new, very deadly drug and the other is trying to protect delegates working on a peace treaty. This is one of my favorite H & F books because of their relationship.
The third book is about the peace treaty and a horrible plot to stop it and destroy Haven. This one is action from nearly start to finish, and it finishes out the series nicely.
Timeline-
Blue Moon Rising
The Hawk and Fisher Books
Beyond the Blue Moon
Once in the Blue Moon
The Forest Kingdom series also included Down Among the Dead Men and Blood and Honor, but those stories stand alone and aren't part of the Hawk and Fisher story line.

The Guards of Haven A Hawk Fisher Omnibus Volume 2 Simon R Green 9781625672483 Books Reviews
Loved Hawk and Fisher in their sword and sorcery world. Cops patrolling the dirty street of the city, Haven, they take no flak from anyone!
ANOTHER GREAT BOOK BY SIMON GREEN. THE MAN DOESN'T STOP WITH THE ACTION IN YET ANOTHER HAWK AND FISHER BOOK. TO KEEP FROM GIVING AWAY THE GOOD PLOTS I WILL JUST SAY THERE ARE MORE SORCERERS AND MAGIC THEN YOU CAN SHAKE A STICK AT AND IT JUST KEEPS GETTING BETTER AS HAWK AND FISHER RISK LIFE AND LIMB IN EVERY INSTALLMENT.
This is a great book, it can stand alone or you can read the whole series. I started reading it to understand the characters of "Beyond the Blue Moon" a little better and it did work. If you want a good series to read, start with Blue Moon Rising and read straight through.
I didn't enjoy this series as much as the others by this author. It was formulaic.
Yep, Green's penchant for strip-mining allegories and fairy tales went over the top by the end of this collection. He could have done dozens more Hawk and Fisher tales before he fell into the 'Buffy back from heaven' trap, but alas, the temptation was too strong.
Still worth a 4 star.
This book combines three previously published Wolf in the Fold, Guard Against Dishonor, The Bones of Haven. As usual, in these sword and sorcery-cop stories, the crime fighting, husband and wife team of Hawk and Fisher are imbue the stories with dry wit and wry humor. Green sets Hawk and Fisher (Julia and Rupert) in a modern medieval world where magic is the norm and corruption runs rampant in the city of Haven. Guards Hawk and Fisher work in the worst crime-infested area, the Northeast Corridor. This husband and wife duo cannot be bought amd fights to keep order.
This is a entertaining and fun set of stories that seamlessly combines magic, wizardry, cops, sword and sorcery with a good vs. evil plot. Very nicely done.
I really like the Hawk and Fisher series. This kindle book is actually the last three of the six books in the series Wolf in the Fold, Guard Against Dishonor, and Bones of Haven. Simon R Green wrote a great Sci-Fi series about Hawk and Fisher with lots of action and plot twists. The series is about swords and magic of a married couple employed as city guards in Haven. Simon R Green writes a great story without unnecessary descriptions of blood/horror and unneed sex descriptions. The books are a fast read and I have trouble putting the e-reader down before finishing the current book I am reading. I really like that they published ( e-reader) the three books in one package. They remain in their correctly published order within the e-reader which is really helpful when reading the series for a fifth or sixth time.
